Jupiter Ascending may be an unfocused mess, but as far as big-budget sci-fi fantasies go, it’s one of the most entertaining messes ever.

If this awesome ‘Cloud Atlas’ infographic doesn’t blow your socks off, then you’re not wearing any. The Map of ‘Cloud Atlas’ illustrates genre, location, date, story, theme, characters, actors, archetypes, conflicts, turning points, a linking “comet” birthmark/tattoo, and actual artifacts passed down from generation to generation in the sprawling story.

‘Cloud Atlas’ is an overly constructed sprawl of a film that lacks affect because of its flat characters and its fixation with dumbed-down philosophy.

Like any go-for-broke cinematic experience, in order for ‘Cloud Atlas’ to work its magic on you, it requires a certain amount of faith.
