As a long-time Star Wars fan, I'd always wanted Star Trek to pick up the pace a little. Morality tales, technical jargon, social engineering... these are all fine and dandy, but the franchise became very overwrought, and daresay, boring. It's fun to see the chemistry of the original characters captured so well, and the action-adventure approach is exactly what this movie required. Yey Star Trek! This movie was fantastic.
