I happen to be 35 and I am sad for everyone who missed Speed Racer, such a wonderful movie.

This Narnia movie is boring as hell, though.

I haven’t seen speed racers and don’t intend to because it look so childish and even though i am 13 years old i don’t like childish movies.

But for Narnia i give it a 10 out of 10 and for the people who say it is bad, well its your bad luck. I haven’t seen it because it comes out on the 5th of June but i like the book and the previews.
For the person who said it was used and not unique what about harry potter its always the same, he fights the bad guys and wins.

Well, I guess since “Speed Racer” was written for people in the, I’m guessing 4 too 12 year old demographic, it had enough substance. The “pretty colors” though, I think any adult could appreciate the digital animation that movie displayed. It was such a bizarre spectacle that the visual effects where enough substance on their own, despite relatively bland writing (at least for me anyway).

I’m sure kids will enjoy Narnia II, and adults might find its slightly darker tone a more suitable viewing experience than SR (fair enough), but I found it pretty bland, and agreeably, way too long. I guess we all look for different things in a movie. When it comes to children and young adult films I generally don’t expect excellent writing (not to say there haven’t been several), so I’m usually just glad to find something unique. Narnia, everything about it seemed so used.

Judging by the Rotten Tomatoes score, you were indeed the only one to like Speed Racer, which I felt was all flash and no substance being able to keep 4 year olds entertianed with the pretty colors, but lacking in anything memorable (20 minutes after the screening I couldn’t tell you one thing about the film that wasn’t related to the special effects - that’s how forgettable Speed Racer is).

As for Narnia, it’s certainly a step up from the first film which I referred to as the most inept, violent, subversive, and intolerant children’s film ever made by Hollywood, but the sequel is still filled with with a preachiness a lackluster plot which filled me with ambivalence (but I guess that’s better than murderous hatred, right?)
