Lee has this marvelous comment about the "comic book energy" of his film, which completely captures the visual flair of the whole business. And Eric Bana & Jennifer Connelly have never been better.

Jonathan- As a movie fan, I hope you're wrong, but the previews for the Incredible Hulk suggest you are right about it. I even posted an early prediction for the film on my worst comic book movie list: http://www.scene-stealers.com/top-10/erics-top-10-worst-comic-book-movies/
Maybe after the new one comes out, people will go back and see Ang Lee's take for the unique vision that it was-- thanks for the tip on the commentary.

May God smile upon you, Eric, for defending the besmirched honor of Ang Lee's Hulk! I was unsure of myself when I bought it on DVD, but now I find myself watching it more often than many other better-recieved superhero movies. (If you haven't already done so, watch the movie with Ang Lee's director commentary. It's one of the most thought-provoking commentary tracks I've ever listened to.) Moviegoers just weren't ready for such a brooding, subtle, and cerebral approach to Marvel's "Smash the puny humans" behemoth. Methinks all those fanboys who bitched about Lee's underrated movie because they didn't understand it are going to get EXACTLY what's coming to them this summer!

Interesting. For some reason, both JD and I didn't really even think of animated films-- we just went straight for live-action adaptations. Nice pick; well done! Have you heard the rumor that they're trying to make a live-action version of "Akira" now? Bad idea, methinks...thanks for the comment!

Sorry, but I disagree with both of these. You got some good movies in, but neither of you even recognized AKIRA.
