"Rockstar" is a sweet guilty pleasure. I have to admit to watching it a time or two, it's like an inescapable gravity well of spandex and Wahlberg. I wish the filmmakers had had the balls to go through with the real Ripper Owens story though the original basis for the story, I'm way down with old-school Priest as well. Sweet, so that makes at least three people who’ve seen “24 Hour Party People,” what a cool movie, one that too few people even know exists. “Rockstar” is a sweet guilty pleasure. You probably left off "The Buddy Holly Story", "La Bamba" for the same reasons you left off "Spinal Tap." I do however take issue that you did not include "Rude Boy" with The Clash. The movie may not be "Oscar Worthy" but it does have its moments. Like Strummer showing up 2 hours late for practice, or The Clash whipping the crowd into a frenzy and then tearing into "White Riot," which is like tossing gas on a fire. Plus the live footage is ripping and you have to love Ray as the roadie. Also check out "Go Johnny Go", if you can find a copy. A great piece of early Rock N Roll-- Jimmy Clanton stars with appearances by Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Alan Freed and Ritchie Valens. "Krush Groove" is a lot fun; I love the scene when the Fat Boys are running through the Sbarros pizza buffet. "Wildstyle" is another great snapshot of early hip-hop. I personally love the film "Sid and Nancy." I also just saw "La Vie En Rose", pretty good. (guilty pleasure: Rockstar.
