Although his delivery was impeccable, David Niven (No. 4) didn’t improvise the line. It was written by the Oscars writers and taped to the podium for any of the presenters. They had a hunch they’d get a streaker.

My word. The Snow White ideo would not look out of place somewhere in Matthew Barney’s “Cremaster” cycle. Or in a stage production by The Residents. It defies rationality.

Eric, I didn’t know anything about Merchant/Ivory productions or their films. I was hoping your friend was right. Not sure if any of the other lifelines would have helped you out either! That was a tough and obscure question, IMO.

Creepy is right. It is hard to finish, hard to look away. I wonder how much longer it will be up on YouTube…while I was writing this, they took down Moore’s speech. When I was finished, I went back to link to it and –poof! Gone baby gone.
