Lawrence of Arabia has got to be up there.

Body Heat, definitely.

There is an old Jack Nicholson western called The Shooting that strikes me as very warm.

Also, there is a Colombian film that takes place in the jungle called Captain Pantoja and the Special Services. The actress in that film, Angie Cepeda, plays a prostitute who is so freaking sexy she may be partly responsible for global warming. Those Colombian women, man!

try "The Proposition" - a dirty, gritty and very bloody western set in Australia. the heat is opressive. the flies swarm over everything living and dead - crawling into your eyes and mouth as you blink and talk - just as they really do in the outback. the baking heat shimmers off of every scene.
for a down and dirty western atmosphere it even trumps Deadwood for pure bleak nastiness.
mad max 2 also comes close. actually, anything set in the Outback fells like that. just imagine Death Valley being more than 5 times the size of Texas and use it as a film setting...

hmmm. even writing that makes me want to go watch something cool and wet. like Jaws.

Oh, yes! Nice one, Marlin. That is a hot, sweaty, sexy-ass movie. Kathleen Turner and William Hurt have never been better.

this list is great!i love tremors! i wish that the actual version would use the words 'judas priest' like the edited for tv version does not because i'm opposed to using 'jesus christ' but i just think Fred Ward's character would use it. hate to say it, jc is just so overused. i'm breaking out these dvds and having a crazy heat fest.
