Eric welcomes Trevan McGee from Inkkc.com back as guest host as they review the new horror comedy “Zombieland,” starring Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abagail Breslin. It’s a weird mix of a Judd Apatow romantic comedy where the geeky guy tries to get the hot girl and an action-buddy road movie, mixed in with some serious zombie ass-kicking.

Well, the hype surrounding James Cameron’s “Avatar” reached a fever pitch last week when the trailer for the long-anticipated flick premiered online and in theaters. Well…Hitler, for one, is not impressed. This fan-made mash-up of “Downfall” is strangely timely, thanks to QT’s “Inglourious Basterds.” It’s also not safe for work! Enjoy.

Just got this from Overture Films:

Michael Moore’s next documentary, CAPITALISM: A LOVE STORY, opening nationwide on October 2, 2009. This trailer contains the first footage available from the film, and as you’ll see, the timeliness of the topics it explores will surely resonate with all audiences.
“It’s got it all — lust, passion, romance, and 14,000 jobs being eliminated every day.” - Michael Moore
CAPITALISM: A LOVE STORY tackles an issue Michael Moore has been examining throughout his career: the disastrous impact of corporate dominance on the everyday lives of Americans (and by default, the rest of the world). But this time the culprit is much bigger than General Motors, and the crime scene far wider than Flint, Michigan. From Middle America, to the halls of power in Washington, to the global financial epicenter in Manhattan, Michael Moore will once again take filmgoers into uncharted territory.

J.D. makes a triumphant return to Scene-Stealers in this review of Sacha Baron Cohen’s button-pushing reality-based prank satire “Brüno.” In the same vein as “Borat,” the surprise comedy smash from 2006, “Brüno” follows a strange foreigner to U.S. soil. Larry Charles directed this rude, obnoxious, and terribly offensive comedy. Is Bruno as funny as Borat? Does the same formulas strike lightning twice? Is it too familiar? How much farther does Bruno go than Borat did? Find out now. Also, find out why Cohen won’t do “Brüno” or “Borat” again and read hilarious excerpts from a “parental review” site that warns parents about explicit content.

Are you already getting a little summer-movie fatigue already like me? If so, this thriller from Kathryn Bigelow (”Near Dark,” “Strange Days”) looks promising as an antidote. It’s got universal praise since screening at the Venice Film Festival late last year, and it opens in limited release this weekend, with an expansion over the next month to a wider audience. Here’s a short clip from “The Hurt Locker,” followed by the synopsis from the movie studio below.
THE HURT LOCKER is a riveting, suspenseful portrait of the courage under fire of the military’s unrecognized heroes: the technicians of a bomb squad who volunteer to challenge the odds and save lives doing one of the worlds most dangerous jobs. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, the film stars Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, Brian Geraghty, Guy Pearce and Ralph Fiennes. THE HURT LOCKER opens in select theaters on June 26.

Yesterday I tweeted this as soon as I saw it. SceneStealrEric: Cage + Herzog + Kilmer + Xhibit = something I can’t wait to witness. WTF? http://bit.ly/PXRnP
Now I find myself wanting to see it again. No one knows exactly where this trailer for the Werner Herzog movie “Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans” came from, but Current’s John Lichman says it’s likely an investor reel shown to possible investors in the film during the Cannes Film Festival. He also identified some choice quotes:
“What are these fucking iguanas doing on my coffee table?”
“That’s my lucky crack pipe. What? You don’t have a lucky crack pipe?”
Here’s another: “Shoot him again. His soul’s still dancing.”
Looks like Nic Cage has returned to his crazy “Vampire’s Kiss” days! Enjoy while its still up–the last one gotten taken down in a day.

Summer is here and Eric Melin and guest host Trevan McGee from inkkc.com review the new McG (”Charlie’s Angels,” “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle”) reboot of “The Terminator” franchise, starring Christian Bale as famed leader of the human resistance John Connor. Eric thinks the movie is like a plate of leftovers from “The Road Warrior,” “Alien,” ‘War of the Worlds,”and “The Matrix,” while Trevan holds firm that as a war movie with some good action scenes, it succeeds.
