‘SCORE: A Film Music Documentary’ opens at Screenland at Tapcade today. This is a full, encompassing look at film scores, starting with the beginning of film and organists in the theaters to modern-day movies and the full orchestras they incorporate.
For those of you who love great acting, original plots, and engaging, interesting characters, you’re going to want to avoid this generic action flick.
Today’s list is an exploration of all the known truths of the Terminator universe, for while the quality of each installment has varied over the years, certain commonalities have not.
It just doesn’t get much better than a film that takes a few minutes to ratchet up the tension via that classic struggle over which wire to cut so as to defuse a bomb and avert catastrophe. To be fair, it’s a somewhat tired trope that’s been done to death, yet when it is executed well, it’s a slam dunk for that extra pinch of tension screenwriters love to mine for.
