On-camera review of "2012"

Eric and guest host Trevan McGee (InkKC.com) review the new apocalyptic disaster porn movie “2012” starring John Cusack and directed by Roland Emmerich. The Mayan prophecy says the world will end in 2012, and Hollywood has co-opted that premise for a flick with lots of state-of-the-art CGI special effects. Is “2012” up to the cinematic standards of the man who also directed “Independence Day” and “The Day After Tomorrow”? Does it at least succeed as a  doomsday action movie? Find out in this on-camera movie review of “2012” with clips from the film.

I couldn’t agree more. This is a candidate for worst film of the year.

This isn’t a case of snobby critics thumbing there nose at a good action movie, it really does suck as bad as they say. I was cussing at the screen by the time it finally ended.

Who designs a species saving ship to not run if all the doors aren’t closed?

This is the best and most creative review I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much. And yeah, I really did waste money on that movie. I guess it turned out to be the worst because of our expectation. It’s like they just chucked all the scenes randomly on our faces. In the first part, it was like: “I’m driving… I’m driving, lalalaalalala…. OH NO! It’s the end of the world!” Maybe they did that so there would be an element of surpirse but meh, it didn’t work.

2012
An over- exaggerated film that goes on and on and on. A 2hr 40min movie which keeps you stiff. You would think that the amazing special effects and action would keep you off your seat, but no it was all the same material, which dragged the director into having a little too much fun and not focusing on the most important part… the STORY! Too many quick get aways, its hard to see millions of families fall to their deaths, except ONE. A broken up family with issues of divorce and chaos to run through the odds of meteors, flying cars, and the ground just straight collapsing. Why does this happen? It’s supposed to be suspense which in some way didn’t matter, because seeing everyone dying just makes you want a giant meteor to fall on their car. Sad enough some effects were pretty awesome yet they made the mistake of putting them all on the commercials anyways!! So if you want to see some “crazy” special effects go to YouTube type in 2012 and that’s it, oh and don’t bother going to see it for the story, it does not have one- Logan Miller@ movies4logan@yahoo.com

the best movie is the simple Idea. I don’t understand the way the american president dies. the fall of the church building.the child who closed the door of the ship…. The movie is full of ideological rancours. we need ideas that could save the world, not a “scenario” of the worst and nightmares.
