Read the facts about the “Star Trek” IMAX controversy here!!

Eric Melin and guest host Billy Brimblecom review the new J.J. Abrams reboot of the “Star Trek” franchise, starring Chris Pine as Captain Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Spock. It’s part origin story, part re-do, with a lot of character and action. It also contains plenty of references to the old series, both obvious and not-so-obvious. Can it live up to the hype? We will tell you right here.

I’ve watched it five times. Glad I still found time to go to work. I’m not even a Trekker, but this movie made a convert out of me. LOL!

Great movie!

This movie was fantastic. As a long-time Star Wars fan, I’d always wanted Star Trek to pick up the pace a little. Morality tales, technical jargon, social engineering… these are all fine and dandy, but the franchise became very overwrought, and daresay, boring. It’s fun to see the chemistry of the original characters captured so well, and the action-adventure approach is exactly what this movie required. Yey Star Trek!

I guess I’m the only one bucking the trend here. I’m not getting the excitement. My friend tried to set me straight. Here’s what we said about it:
