Capsule Review: "Scary Movie 2"

For the record, I liked “Scary Movie.” Check out my review in the archives if you want. I was ashamed, but I laughed. A lot. This time I was not nearly as ashamed, and laughing not nearly as much. And this, despite the addition of David Cross, one of the funniest men on the planet, to the cast. Still, there are some funny moments. James Woods and Andy Richter in the opening scene are very funny. Cross’ John Woo-style wheelchair fight complete with scattering doves is very funny. But when the main plot is ripped off from one of the worst horror movies ever made, “The Haunting,” it’s pretty hard to keep watching if the jokes aren’t coming at a machine gun pace.
