I just watched this on DVD the other night. I agree the classic Paramount logo was a nice touch, it reminded me of how Romero used the classic Universal logo for Land of the Dead. Something as simple as that can really sub-consciously put you in to a certain frame on mind. Anyway, I really enjoyed the movie, and it did have a few very intense moments. I don't know why but it reminded me of Scorsese, maybe it's the 70's influence you spoke of in the review. It's interesting that it was shot on Digital, it still maintained a very cinematic quality that I think is sometimes lost when using that format.
