I actually couldnt have agreed more. I went into this movie, and the first ten minutes blew me away, I couldnt believe him leaving his wife, it amde the situation seem so real that he just wanted to survive. I could sympathize for his character going through that tragic experience, but then the movie just seemed to go south and offer the usual roles and paths for the rest of the movie.

For a movie with such an incredible beginning, to just flatline after the first ten minutes really sucked. I wish there was a way of keeping that beginning and offering a new movie for the rest of it. I also heard that Danny Boyle was responsible for the first ten minutes, is there any truth to that?
