Having read the book but not seen the movie, I can tell you that life of Pi is not even really about religion even though it claims to be. Really it is a story about story telling, it applies to what you guys were saying about how film is a lie. From everything I have seen and read though it seems that there is way more emphasis on the religious aspect which sounds to be more forced. I am still cautiously optimistic though

Yes, the religious content is a little overbearing, but if there’s any stories more widely shared and interpreted than the allegories of religious tales, I don’t know what they’d be. I’m curious to know what you thought after you see it. Be sure and let us know!
