It may be a late screening for a school night, but we’ve just received 50 tickets for Guy Ritchie’s new British gangster drama “RocknRolla” for 9pm on Tuesday October 28. The screening will take place at the Olathe Studio 30, and is also a sneak preview of that theater’s new theater/dining/drinking format called Fork & Screen. You will hear plenty more about that in the very near future, since my band The Dead Girls will be performing a free rock show on the pavement outside the theater on Saturday, November 1st. (Tie-in: “RocknRolla” meets rock n’ roll. Reality: Any excuse to play a free concert for anyone who wants to come!)

Anyway, you know the drill: The first 50 people to sign up will get a free ‘admit-two’ pass in the mail. If you are able to fill out the form below, the tickets will be mailed to your house. Please do not sign up more than once, and don’t try to be all tricky with multiple email accounts and addresses. Also, if the screening sells out, be sure and keep checking back at this post. Often times, Scene-Stealers sitegoers will let you know if they aren’t using their tickets! If you are one of the lucky 50 winners, please remember to get there early. These screenings are often overbooked. Your pass will have more details on this. Good luck!

He ain’t lyin’! More info on that event very, very soon. Free, explosive rock n’ roll from The Dead Girls and Pompous Jack in a movie theater parking lot. It doesn’t get any better than that.

You sure did. You should have said ‘hi’! Glad you liked it better than I did…

I am curious Eric, did you like Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels or Snatch? I love LS&TSB and I really enjoyed RockNRolla. They are very similar in their jumping around and intertwining story lines. It keeps you thinking trying to figure it all out. I too spotted you before the 7:30 showing. You were very involved in the tour of the place so I left you alone. I will say ‘hi’ tonight for sure!

I think Guy Ritchie is a good example of the law of diminishing returns. “Lock, Stock” was the best version of this kind of movie, “Snatch” was the same thing only less fun, and this is the worst of the three. I’ve never seen “Swept Away” or “Revolver,” though, so I don’t know about those movies…tonight we will rock!
