Has the success of “Paranormal Activity” created a monster?
The Milla Jovovich thriller “The Fourth Kind,” opening today, purports to be about real events and claims its using real documentary footage right alongside actors portraying the same scenes. Turns outmost of it may not be real at all. Read on here.
Why is this so necessary? Can’t we just have well-told suspense stories with good writing? Ugh.

Well, all I have to say is… “Duhhhh!”.
I mean, folks, really. This is a movie. It’s not real. None of it is real. It is made by a MOVIE STUDIO and WRITERS.
Both of the “Dr Tyler” characters are played by actresses. Again, “Duhhhh”. And Please do at least a little bit of research into what the conclusions are to the FBI investigations into the disappearances in Alaska.
Isn’t it kind of funny that they all appear to have had alcohol involved? And isn’t it kind of funny that frigid temperatures can kind of contribute to oh, say, FREEZING TO DEATH AFTER PASSING OUT OUTSIDE? And isn’t it kind of obvious that the indigenous creatures of Alaska would want to drag off and eat any nice, fresh meat they find laying around, whether it’s human, animal, or any other type of meat?
And maybe there are some murders involved. Definitely possible. But isn’t it also kind of funny that we are talking about a period of over 40 years, and that seems like it could also be the time period of a serial killer’s tenure in any given area?
For some people, the most plausible and obvious explanations are the most suspicious… because when you are a conspiracy believer, you are locked into a closed belief system, and any evidence against the conspiracy simply becomes part of the “vast coverup”.
Ask yourself… “What evidence would convince me that there is no conspiracy here?”. If your answer is “there is no evidence, because it’s all part of the coverup”, you are hopelessly lost in a world of silliness, paranoia, and anomaly hunting. And that’s a really sad place to be. People who believe in grand conspiracies are incredibly closed-minded. It’s the only way that they can validate their wacky logic processes.
In regards to this stupid movie (remember, folks, it is a MOVIE, just like the Blair Witch Project was), all of the “actual footage” was staged, portrayed by actors, and digitally enhanced. And I wouldn’t consider any of it to be “evidence” even if it was “actual footage”. It’s so suspicious to me that every time some alien visitation video is presented, it always JUST SO HAPPENS to go all fuzzy or jerky or grainy juuuuuuust at the moment that something compelling would present itself. Let’s also remember that with the advent of photo and video manipulation software that is available to anyone with a computer, these types of “evidence” are being reduced to unacceptable forms of proof of anything… But especially when it comes from a MOVIE STUDIO. Please, people, THINK for just a moment. Please. Just take a deep breath, and THINK.
I believe that alien visitation is completely plausible, even given the tremendous travel limitations that would be presented by sheer distance and the Theory (LAW) of Relativity. Although I haven’t figured out why any species would travel over a hundred thousand years to get here so that they can hide and core out the anuses of cattle and make pretty patterns in crops (don’t even get me started on how silly crop circle believers are).
Absolutely all of the “evidence” that a lot of people are willing to accept as “proof” of such phenomena is pure garbage. And 1 million pieces of garbage don’t add up to “evidence”. They just add up to a pile of garbage a million pieces high.

It really drives me crazy when people say that other people have closed minds, when they cant even believe in anything else but their own “thoughts” on things. In order to have an open mind you have to go beyond what you yourself believe and think, hey maybe its possible. Who cares if it is just a movie. Millions of people believe it, and who is anyone else to judge what they believe in. Maybe the footage isnt real, but hey in order to make movies people have to have ideas or beliefs. Hell we could have been created by an alien race or maybe we are descended from apes. Who knows the truth in life, there are many different theories for many different things and thats what they are, theories. I have seen some strange things in my life and I try not to jump to conclusions, but the truth is there will not always be evidence for every little detail in life. I liked this movie and it was pretty convincing but I dont know if it was real or not. Movies do make things seem real whether they are or not. Either way there are a lot of people who believe in this and to say they are wrong is like saying a whole religion is wrong. Its not our decision to tell people what they can and cannot believe.

I’ve read all the comments posted here and I like the first guys’ response and the rest of you get off track. The question is if the footage is real. Not God or universe BS or FBI evidence (If the FBI really knew it was aliens, do you really think they would tell the public. I mean we all saw the towers go down and if you believe the FBI told the truth about the Pentagon well you lose all credit right there RR). I’ve watched tons of UFO stuff and have seen some in person, but they are just Unidentified Flying Objects. Not “aliens”. The footage shown in the movie could very well be archived footage that this Dr Abigail Tyler had kept hidden until the right movie guy came along to tell her story. I mean think about this for a minute. If you had some of the most convincing evidence in your possession and wanted to tell your story you are not just going to jump on YouTube and post it and then let people tell their own opinion on if it’s real or not. There would hardly be a buzz about it, except in the UFO community. This way of presenting footage, to me, gets a lot louder response and more variety of people to watch it and thus creating a HUGE BUZZ, instead of just a few YouTube videos with over a million hits. Real or fake? Who really cares? It makes you think and I think the damn Footage is awesome and can’t wait to be taken over by the extraterrestrial. That way we can shut up and stand in line as slaves working for these guys on their home planet as exotic dancers and construction workers.
Oh one last thing that nobody else has mentioned. Don’t you find it kind of funny the Paranormal Activity movie came out at the same time this movie came out, but the previews and buzz on the internet was all about that movie and none about this one? A $15,0000 budget about ghosts with Blare Witch style filming and then tons of advertising money spent right at the same time a movie based on true events and “real” footage comes out, but the majority of the public talks about a “scary ghost film”, but nothing about a UFO film with real scary stuff in it. mmmmmmmmmmm I don’t know about this one Hollywood. Now let me ask you, have you ever put a magnet up to an analog video? it distorts it because of how the recorder or whatever is reading it reads whats on the video. its a big magnetic strip. now let me ask you this too, have you ever seen a voice synthesizer on a movie? or even in your house. the funny movies where some kid is playing a prank on someone and he has the deep voice thing. And guys there are translations of sumerian language. put all those together and presto! youve got yourself one of these videos

But when he drew up these machines, that work because theyve built some of them on discovery channel, They didnt have the technology or materials or tools and weapons to go in these things.

Remember it being like a minute long tape recording of her screaming? Ok, Yes it is most likley to be fake, I think the give away is the poor production on the Dr Abigail Tyler interview in that you can see that they are acting, also the cop car video as good as it looks would be owned by that Sherrif department and would have been leaked, what piss’s me off is the actors who sold out at the start of the film, but all in all I thought it was well done

I have no doubt everything in that movie was fake.. anyone with a resonable level of intelligenc and the slightest ablity to read people could tell that the supposed “actual footage” was faked, horribly. The end was hilarious, aliens that can brutally posess a human but cant speak english through it? HAHHA!!
Now clowning aside, and as much as I believe that movie was bunk, I do believe we are not alone. It’s here. And all one has to do to find out for themselves is pray to “IT” as they would to Christ, and ask it to come into your life and change you. You will be heard.

Did you notice that when the thing hovers over her house in the movie its gone in seconds and the cop said they pulled them out of the house from the ship? First off, those were all analog videos in the “real footage” in this movie. Now let me ask you, have you ever put a magnet up to an analog video? it distorts it because of how the recorder or whatever is reading it reads whats on the video. its a big magnetic strip. now let me ask you this too, have you ever seen a voice synthesizer on a movie? or even in your house. the funny movies where some kid is playing a prank on someone and he has the deep voice thing. Leonardo Da Vinci drew up war machines (this is on the discovery channel, where they make da vincis blueprints) and some of them work. and You know what else he did? he even drew in tricks and traps so that if the wrong people got ahold of his drawings, they would hurt themselves trying to make it and it wouldnt work. But when he drew up these machines, that work because theyve built some of them on discovery channel, They didnt have the technology or materials or tools and weapons to go in these things.

Secondly, this is not a debate and it doesn’t matter who’s wrong or who’s right. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and beliefs. Third, the footage in the movie doesn’t prove fact or fiction. If it is real, it must have been a tramatic experience for the witnesses. If it isn’t real it sure is entertaining and it could easily be reproduced my anyone.
The movie was not even filmed in Nome, and I’ve read that The Medical Board of Psychiatry has no record of an Abigail Tyler. Abigail Tyler could be lying or just crazy. She could have changed her name. Or she could simply not exist because Hollywood created the character. I did find it odd that at the end of the movie they mention Abby Tyler’s ” dehabilitating condition”? What condition? They never mentioned anything about it earlier in the movie.
Another thing to note is that If you rent or buy the dvd and look at special features, they show the piece of footage, where Tommy kills his family and himself, being filmed with THE Abby Tyler. You can actually here a person shout “action!”

And the thing about ancient artifacts that are decorated with so called aliens, has anyone ever thought that they could be worn down due to weather and age? Maybe the images look like aliens now, but were something or someone else when created. And if our ancient ancestors were visited by any beings, who’s to say they were aliens? The people could have come across a lucid plant or substance and huluscinated the aliens. Or perhaps they weren’t aliens, but maybe an extinc creature. Or maybe, for those who are religous, they were literally angels or heavenly beings. There are not photos or footage of angels or aliens, so there’s not really a way to say what looks like what.

Even if it is fake footage, the stone tablets with carvings of (alien gods) IS REAL. Now i ask u if i am wrong and the samarians ( who were around b4 the birth of christ ) were clever enough to build speak and even do mathamatics and invent the calander… y would they carve a load of (so called) rubish on2 those stone tablets for us to see now????? what did they just deside to draw sum pritty pictures of actual usable equipment far 2 technically advanced for their time and farely acurate now.

I don’t think its fair to our ancestors, for us to underestimate their abillities or intelligence. Just because it was so long ago does not mean that they weren’t capable of inventing, learning, or simply evolving.
One other theory I have is that why isn’t possible that mankind finally got time travel down, and visited the past? As long as we’re discussing aliens and such, I might aswell bring conspiracies. It may be as we speak that time travel is currently possible, but The Man isn’t telling us about it.
