tron man 2 downeyWill there be an extra scene after “Iron Man 2″ credits? Will it set up “The Avengers”?

According to SuperheroHype,  “A 100% trusted source (NOT from the production/distribution, but very familiar with the movie) confirmed us today that there will be an easter egg in IM2. It’s an extra scene, just like the one in the first movie, after the end credits. We are able to tell you what’s about! It’s a scene about… Captain America and Thor!”

This should come as no surprise, of course.

After the credits of “Iron Man,” there was a scene with Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury standing in Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) house. He says “I’m here to talk to you about the Avenger initiative.” (see video below) Also, Captain America’s shield was glimpsed in Stark’s shop.

Yesterday, everyone and their mother reported that “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Firefly/Serenity” creator Joss Whedon was closing his deal to direct “The Avengers” movie.

And, don’t forget the scene in “The Incredible Hulk” where Tony Stark talks to Ross (William Hurt) about his Hulk “problem.”

If you’re a big Marvel superhero fan, it looks like you may want to consider staying through the credits next month when you see “Iron Man 2.”
