Ever wonder how bad movies ever came to be so bad?

Well, now’s your chance to find out and have a drink with us this Friday at one of the coolest theaters in town!

Scene-Stealers is sponsoring the 3-day run of a fantastic and hilarious documentary called “Best Worst Movie” at the Screenland Crossroads. The film is playing July 16 – 18 only, and the Scene-Stealers crew will be in attendance for the 7pm show Friday night. I’ll be there to introduce the movie and we’ll be hanging out before/after and having a drink!

Screenland Crossroads

If you like “bad” movies, cult movies, funny movies, or horror movies, this film is for you. It’s that simple. Here’s the story:

Last year I saw “Best Worst Movie” at its SXSW premiere. It chronicled the making of “Troll 2,” a film so terrifically bad that it has spawned a huge cult following.

But the movie goes way beyond that. It was written and directed by Michael Paul Stephenson, the child star of”Troll 2,” so its a personal look at how it shaped/changed life for he and his other co-stars. I had never even seen “Troll 2,” but I was fascinated by everything surrounding it. (I finally saw the film at a midnight screening right afterwards and omigod, I am a fan now. Seriously. It’s an inspired film.)

Here’s my original review of “Best Worst Movie.”

I interviewed Stephenson and star George Hardy and found them to be two of the coolest, most down-to-Earth guys ever. They have a really good sense of humor about their unique status in pop culture history. You kind of have to. Here’s the interview:

Anyway, please come out and support this great indie documentary and if you’ve got Friday night open, consider coming to the 7pm show and come say hi! We’d love to see you there!
