J.D. is going to freak out for this. I just got this press release from Paramount and thought I’d post it immediately. Hot off the trails of his newest success “Cloverfield,” J.J. Abrams is releasing new photos and a teaser trailer of his prequel re-boot of the “Star Trek” franchise, scheduled for release this Christmas.
It stars Winona Ryder (of all people), Simon Pegg (“Shaun of the Dead,” “Hot Fuzz”) John Cho, Ben Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto (“Heroes”), Zoë Saldana, Karl Urban, and Anton Yelchin.
The extra cool-guy credits at the end read: “with Eric Bana and Leonard Nimoy.”
Here’s the rest of the press release and links to the teaser trailer:
Synopsis: From director J.J. Abrams (“Mission: Impossible III,” “Lost” and “Alias”) and screenwriters Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman (“TRANSFORMERS,” “MI: III”) comes a new vision of the greatest space adventure of all time, “Star Trek,” featuring a young, new crew venturing boldly where no man has gone before.
