Kansas City Film Critics Pick 2010 Movie Award Winners

Tonight the Kansas City Film Critics Circle, the second oldest professional film critics’ association in the United States, chose the winners of its 45th Annual Loutzenhiser Awards for Cinema. The award winners for the year 2010 are:

Best Picture: The Social Network

Robert Altman Award for Best Director: Christopher Nolan, Inception

Best Actress: Natalie Portman, Black Swan

Best Actor: Colin Firth, The King’s Speech

Best Supporting Actress: Hailee Steinfeld, True Grit

Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale, The Fighter

Best Foreign Language Film: Mother

Best Documentary: Exit Through the Gift Shop

Best Animated Film: Toy Story 3

Best Original Screenplay: Christopher Nolan, Inception

Best Adapted Screenplay: Aaron Sorkin, The Social Network

Vince Koehler Award for Best aFntasy, Science Fiction or Horror Film: Inception

Nice. By Academy Award time, Hailee will probably rightfully get a nomination even if she’s the lead. If she does get nominated in supporting, she should take it without question in my opinion.

Nice for Nolan to win director. I prefer The Social Network and Fincher’s accomplishments, but in terms of being sheerly innovative, Inception takes it.
