12/6 UPDATE: FX has canceled “Terriers.” Thanks to everyone who send an email and spread the word. Maybe it will get picked up by someone else?Anyway, I got an email from Marcus Turner, who saw this post and wanted me to post the link to his Don’t cancel TERRIERS Facebook page. Is there still hope?

Original post:

I just sent this letter to user@fxnetworks.com to try and help save the best show on TV right now, FX’s “Terriers,” from creator/executive producer Ted Griffin and executive producer Shawn Ryan (“The Shield”), and starring Donal Logue and Michael Raymond-James.

If you aren’t watching it, it airs Wednesday nights on FX (or can be viewed online here).

If you are, please consider sending an email to user@fxnetworks.com. Anyone know of any online petitions?

Terriers is one of the best, intellegent shows on TV. Please do not take this program off. Give it another chance…Save this show. Save us from Reality TV….I also love the theme song…it is one of tunes I cannot get out of my head. He reminds me of a Lyon Russell song about going back to the islands….

Again, there are so few shows on TV that are worth watching…please reconsider. Thank you for reading this…..hope you can rethink your actions.

This is such a well-written, beautifully acted show I don’t know how it ever got on!!! But please keep going. Dropping these wonderful characters would be a crime!

My family and I look forward to Terriers every week. I hope that FX gives the series a chance. I feel like the show needs a little more expose for people to see what a gem it is and start watching. I happened to see a trailer at a movie for Terriers, that is the only time I had heard about the show. Fantastic show, I look forward to season 2!

Please, please, please, keep Terriers on. There are so few good programs out now, with quality stories, acting and action. I can’t imagine just letting this one go by the wayside when so many others are much more deserving. What else can we do to keep it?

‘Terriers’ MUST be saved. It’s not our fault if FX gave the series a confusing name which is probably the only reason for the low viewership. It’s the most intelligently-written show on the air – the writers always assumed viewers had brains and never wrote predictable storylines. And Karina Logue was icing on the cake with her portrayal of Steph.

Please keep Terriers on the air. It is simply the best show on tv.

Please bring back Terriers. Stop punishing the viewers for the Network’s failure to promote the show and do whatever it takes to secure it’s success. Southland was brought back by view demand. Terriers is every bit as quality a show as Southland.

Please bring back Terriers. It’s a great show and the only one that both my husband and I love and watch together.

Please bring back this fantastic show with the most empathetic characters on television. It would be a waste not to watch them evolve over several seasons.

NOOOOOO!!!!. My husband and I always made time for this show…Terriers was the highlight of our week. There are so many crappy shows in existence, it’s a shame to see such a well-written, well-acted show fall to the wayside. Let’s hope these network execs come to their senses.

The best written and acted show on TV in 2010. Love the “Homer” feel to it as a San Diegan but more than that . . . this is a well done show worth watching. Don’t let an “intelligent” shows disappear! Adults need good programming, too!

Don’t cancel “terriers” This is one of the best new shows written on TV. I can’t believe the shows that don’t get canceled, YOUR MAKING A BIG MISTAKE !!!!!!! THIS IS A FANTASTIC SHOW THAT NEEDS TO BE SAVED. I CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF DONAL LOGUE (HANK) HE’S A NEW UP COMING ACTOR THAT DESERVES A SECOND SEASON . “TERRIERS” WAS THE BEST AND I WAS ALWAYS EXCITED FOR THE NEXT SHOW, “DON’T LEAVE US HANGING” FOR THE NEW SEASON TO BEGIN.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please keep Terriers going! FX has aired many of my favorite shows, the Shield, Rescue Me,etc.. This show will find a following if given time and proper promotion, it doesn’t hurt that takes place in my own backyard, so far I know all of the locations having roamed up and down Newport Ave for many years. Don’t give up on a well-written, acted, and entertaining series!

Add me to the list of watchers, not wanting Terriers to go away. A favorite of my friends as well. Keep it in production, please.

I totally agree. Terriers is the best new show of 2010 and deserves another season. I mentioned it to friends who scratched their head at the name– I guess it doesn’t conjure any compelling connections. But it’s a great show and needs saving!

I just found out about Terriers was being canceled and I wish someone would pick it up.

One reason for low viewer numbers was that Dish Satellite customers were blocked from FX for a month. Fox and Dish were having contract disputes so Fox just blocked all programming to all Dish customers. Dish is a major provider, no wonder the numbers were low. Sheesh.

Bring Terriers back!
