Looks like this year is going to be the year of the safe MOR films, I’m hoping to see Inglourious Basterds take out best pic at the oscars but I’d put my money on Up in the Air already. Nice to see An Education get some notice though

Has anyone seen the “Brother” movie, I haven’t really heard anything about it and the trailer left me undecided as to whether I would watch it can anyone recommend it or should I not bother?
also a couple more snubs: sam rockwell in moon for best actor and whip it for comedy

Xavier- I’m watching “Moon” this weekend, and I agree “Whip It” should have been in Best Comedy.
Matt- Mybe if “Star Trek” had its own category. Unfortunately, it gets lumped in with Drama and that’s why it got nothing. It really was a terrific piece of Hollywood entertainment, though…

I’m shocked Viggo Mortensen for “The Road,” Christian McKay for “Me and Orson Welles,” and Alfred Molina for “An education” were snubbed!!!

Eric, I think the only way a Star Trek movie would ever win an award would be in its own category. Though I thought at the very least the music might get a nod for Giacchino, I suppose he got it with Up.

Sadly, my favorite movies of the year have absolutely no chance of winning anything. Zombieland, Drag Me to Hell, Star Trek and Moon (to a slightly lesser degree) all impressed me. Maybe I should stick to the Spike TV awards, or whatever.

Oh well. I’ll be pulling for 500 Days of Summer.

I’m rooting for The Hangover to win the only Golden Globe it’s nominated in.

Did anyone see the movie “Adam”?
I did, completely heart-breaking.
Completely, and utterly snubbed.

Sandra Bullock? How embarassing for America. Look at her work. In how many films did she use that same stupid laugh that wasn’t funny? If anything she should have won an award the year Miss Congeniality 2 came out because no one seemed more like a man in drag than she did! Bullock is a smart businesswoman pretending to be typical American when she really had a privileged upbringing. She is a noncreative pretending to be artist. (yes, in some countries acting is an art form). Depp is an artist. Streep is an artist. They have range. They could perform on stage or on camera. Hollywood is more and more like a bad commercial.
