The eighth Fantastic Fest is now officially underway! And while I can’t wait to start gorging myself on movies until I’m so sleep deprived I consider voting for a third party candidate, I realize that a lot of you can’t make the trip down to Austin or aren’t yet sold on the world’s most badass film festival.¬†Click here for¬†full Fantastic Fest coverage.

Well, you’re in luck. Nearly 1/3 of all contemporary films that were programmed in its seven previous iterations are currently available to stream (as of 9/20/12). Through the magic of the internet, you can program your own Fantastic Fest from the privacy of your own home!

Best of all, it doesn’t cost anything extra if you’re already a subscriber to Netflix Instant Watch or Amazon Prime.

George Hickman is the first child conceived and raised by a sentient television and an anthropomorphic video store. He is a true Texan, in the sense that it is true that he lives in Texas. He spends his days making the Internet work and his nights surviving on the sustenance that only flickering lights and moving pictures can bring. There were no survivors.

I’ve only seen five of these. Someone point me in the right direction on where to continue. Any favorites?
