It may seem like our last contest disappeared into the ether, but that is not the case. Our winners are busy enjoying their free goods from Scene-Stealers as we speak! We are just so damned busy that we forgot to congratulate them on the site. So congratulations to our first place winner, Tim Wiedmaier of Tecumseh, KS, who received a free 6-month gift subscription to Netflix, allowing him to have 3 DVDs out at a time, plus 17 hours of on-demand online movie watching. They’ve got a huge catalog, buddy, but I know “Freddy Got Fingered” will be your first rental. It would be mine, but I own it. Hell, I just got my own complimentary NetFlix subscription for a recent game show appearance, and I’m aching to catch up on some classics I’ve never seen. Have fun, Tim!
Our second place prize was two movie passes to the film of your choice, so I’d like to recommend to our winner, Beca Schlegel of Columbia, MO, that she stay far, far away from the upcoming “Lions for Lambs,” starring Tom Cruise, Robert Redford, and Meryl Streep. It’s a movie that makes me embarrassed to be a liberal, and it takes quite a lot to embarrass me. Try “American Gangster” instead. Congrats Beca!
And lastly, Teddy Van Ness from Los Angeles, CA won our grab bag of genuine theatrical movie posters, which included a “Michel Clayton” poster, one from “Across the Universe,” “Superbad,” “Notes From a Scandal,” “Little Children,” “The Hills Have Eyes 2,” and whatever else I could find! Teddy, what did I leave out?
Anyway, we’ll be giving a lot more stuff away as the site continues to do better, and we want to thank everyone for all your support. The site keeps growing and we love having the interactivity with everyone. Our “Beowulf” ticket giveaway was so close to being a national giveaway that we know we will work out the kinks soon and be able to offer free early screenings all over the U.S. soon. Also, stay tuned for some badass autographed poster giveaways coming up in the very near future!
yer pal,
Eric
