Fanboys isn’t a bad film, but it’s not likely to work all that well outside the rabid Lucas fan base. I’m a pretty huge Star Wars nerd and I had a very mixed reaction.

I’m a self-admitted and unabashed fan of Star Wars and, as such, I really wanted to love Fanboys. Sigh. Sadly it felt like too many people screwed with this cute little project about Star Wars fans until the result was something jumbled and broken, which, is of course, what happened. Alex Proyas, the director of “Dark City”–one of the most stylistically exciting and underrated sci-fi movies ever–has a new movie coming out next month. Granted, it stars Nicolas Cage, whose track record of late has not been so good. I am hopeful nevertheless, and we have 25 ‘admit-two’ passes to give away for the Kansas [...]

Contributor Alan Rapp offers this surprising list up for today. If you have your own idea for a Top 10 list, email eric@scene-stealers.com. It’s just an honor to be nominated… Is it really? You’ve heard that expression for years. Let’s face it, the Academy Awards snubs many a film when it posts its nominations. Almost [...]

Well, here’s the teaser for Quentin Tarantino’s long-awaited WWII revenge flick “Inglorious Basterds.” I ususally try not to watch trailers (because I hate seeing too much of the film), but this is a smaller, quicker trailer than most … … and it’s somehow completely not what I was expecting. Even knowing QT’s propensity for childish [...]

I’ve just received word that we are getting tons of ‘admit-two’ passes to a private, Scene-Stealers only advance screening of the new comedy starring Paul Rudd (“Knocked Up”) and Jason Segel (“Forgetting Sarah Marshall”). It’s [...]
